Every year since 2005 we have been organizing the Latin American School of Human and Medical Genetics - ELAG.

ELAG provides a review and an update about applications of Genetics to health sciences, and it is aimed to young health care professionals and health science graduate students and postdocs.

The 2024 Course will be held from May 19th - May 25th, 2024, at the traditional venue of Sky Samuara Hotel, Caxias do Sul (122 km from Porto Alegre airport).

The Event will provide a sponsorship to cover for part of the overall costs and the students will need to contribute US$350 (in addition to their travel expenses to Porto Alegre). All the other costs with transfer airport-hotel-airport, meals, and registration will be covered with the partial sponsorship.

Before you start filling the application form, there are a few things you should know about ELAG:

1. ELAG is a high-level course on human and medical genetics, with lectures and discussions mainly in English (no translation will be provided).

2. ELAG is an intensive course, and if selected you must attend it from Sunday to Saturday. No exceptions will be made.

3. ELAG takes place in a secluded hotel and the selected student will share a double or triple room with one or two students, depending on availability. No exceptions will be made.
