Lavinia SCHULER-FACCINI

Dr. Lavinia Schuler-Faccini is a Professor of Medical Genetics and vice-Director of Biosciences Institute at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. She's also President of the Brazilian Medical Genetics Society and coordinates the Brazilian Teratogen Information Service. She's graduated in Medicine and has a PhD degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UFRGS and post-doctoral training at Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, and at University College of London, UK. Over the past 30 years she has contributed over 100 articles and book chapters to the scientific literature. She has supervised over 30 masters and PhD students. Her main areas of investigations include Teratogenesis in Humans, and Medical Population Genetics.
