D.Sc. in Molecular Biology, Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL, Monterrey, Mexico). Postdoctoral training, Center for gene and Cell Therapy (Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas). Full-time professor and researcher of the School of Medicine at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Member of the Mexican System of Researchers and the Mexican Academy of Sciences. Past-president of the Mexican Association of Human Genetics (AMGH) and the Latin American Network of Human Genetics (RELAGH). Research interests include gene and cell therapy, genomics of monogenic and complex diseases, and cancer molecular biology.
